Title : Earth Day celebrations Classes VI-XII
Earth day
was celebrated with great sincerity by all the wings of DLDAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh. Dressed up in hues of
green and blue, the entire DLDAV fraternity pledged to save the environment in
a special assembly held on 21st April to mark the occasion. Special
activities began a week in advance with children designing posters, writing
slogans and making headgears. In the Nursery wing teachers wearing animal
headgears drew the children?s attention to the amazing diversity of life forms
on Earth and sang the birthday song along with the tiny tots. Children of
classes I and II imbibed positive messages by watching presentations on the
smart boards and cheering for their planet. Students of Integrity house from
both Primary and Senior wings drove home the message of nurturing the
environment as they sang songs, recited poems and presented an exceptional
dance drama. Inter house Board Designing and Photography competitions were also
organized on this occasion.

Alumni, Divya Pali, Civil and Environmental Engineer
working with Delhi Technological University, Vivek Chawla, Celebrated
Photographer and Preeti Daksh, award winning writer and theatre artist were the
guests of honor in the assembly. Principal Ms. Reena Rajpal exhorted the
children to celebrate every day as Earth day by taking small but effective
measures to reduce their carbon footprints.
